How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Primary Teacher – SEMH Alternative Provision

    Location: Norwich, Norfolk
    Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Inspire Change. Build Confidence. Transform Futures.

Blackstone Recruitment is working with a specialist Alternative Provision in Norwich to recruit a passionate and resilient Primary Teacher to join their dedicated team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with primary-aged pupils who require a personalised approach to education due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other additional barriers to learning. You will play a key role in helping children re-engage with education, develop positive relationships and achieve both academically and personally.

The school provides a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where every pupil is supported to succeed through high expectations, strong relationships and an engaging, bespoke curriculum focused on building confidence, resilience and independence.

    The Role

As a Primary Teacher, you will:

    * Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils across the primary age range.

    * Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment where children can thrive.

    * Build trusting relationships with pupils, supporting their emotional wellbeing alongside their academic progress.

    * Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals to provide holistic support.

    * Use creative teaching strategies to re-engage learners who may have experienced disrupted education.

    * Monitor progress, maintain accurate records and contribute to EHCP reviews where appropriate.

    * Promote positive behaviour through restorative and trauma-informed approaches.

    * Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience, independence and essential life skills.

    About You

We are looking for someone who:

    * Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

    * Has experience teaching primary-aged pupils.

    * Has experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND, autism or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential).

    * Is calm, patient and resilient, with excellent behaviour management skills.

    * Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

    * Has a flexible and creative approach to teaching.

    * Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

    What You'll Receive

    * A supportive and collaborative leadership team.

    * Small class sizes allowing for personalised teaching.

    * Ongoing CPD and opportunities for career progression.

    * The opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

    * Access to specialist support and multi-disciplinary working.

    * A rewarding role where every day brings new opportunities to positively impact young people's futures.

    Safeguarding

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, Right to Work checks and all other safer recruitment requirements in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

If you are an enthusiastic and compassionate teacher looking to make a lasting impact within an Alternative Provision setting, we would love to hear from you.
