How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Children's Residential Support Worker

    Location: Godstone, Surrey
Salary: £27,000 - £34,000 per annum (including sleep-ins, depending on experience)
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Make a Positive Difference in a Young Person's Life

We are looking for caring, resilient, and motivated Children's Residential Support Workers to join a welcoming Residential Children's Home in Godstone, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The organisation has one established home, with a "good" rating from Ofsted, and have just launched their second provision, which has welcomed its first young person.

The home is located in a beautifully green, rural part of Surrey, right by Godstone. The service is nestled amongst a cluster of farms and fields, offering the children an abundance of outdoor activities, within the local area. Due to the location of the home, a car/bike is essential, as transport links are limited.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help children and young people build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes within a safe and supportive environment.

    Key Responsibilities

Provide care and support to children and young people who have trauma informed backgrounds.

Build positive relationships and promote emotional well-being.

Have an understanding of trauma informed approaches.

Support young people with daily routines, education, and social activities.

Encourage independence, personal development, and positive behaviour.

Participate in recreational activities and community outings.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.

Work as part of a dedicated team to create a safe and nurturing home environment.

Follow safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all young people.

    What We're Looking For

A minimum of 6 months experience working with children, in the UK, within the last 3 years

Ability to build positive relationships with young people to help them achieve their goals

    Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

    Full UK Driving Licence needed

Willingness to complete relevant training and qualifications.

    What We Offer

Competitive salary with additional payment for sleep-in shifts.

Comprehensive training and ongoing professional development.

    Opportunities for career progression.

Supportive management team and positive working environment.

    Pension scheme.

    Generous annual leave entitlement.

Employee assistance and well being support.

If you have the necessary experience, and have access to drive a car or motorbike for your commute, please do get in touch, as it is a great opportunity to consider
