How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting for a Buyer, ideally (not essential) with a background in aerospace, engineering, or manufacturing? Do you enjoy building strong supplier relationships, managing procurement activities, and ensuring materials are delivered on time?

    We're looking for a proactive and organised Buyer to join a busy procurement team supporting a leading aerospace business. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the supply chain, working with suppliers across a fast-paced engineering environment.  Based in Yeovil, this role is hybrid and will be required to be in the office 1 or 2 days per week (potentially 5 days for training for a few weeks).  This is a long term temporary role.

    What you'll be doing:
    Managing the procurement of machining parts and engineering components.
    Raising purchase orders against existing Long Term Agreements (LTAs).
    Creating purchase orders and processing procurement documentation through SAP.
    Sending Requests for Quotation (RFQs) against SAP requisitions.
    Issuing quotation requests for AFPs/RFQs and uploading supplier quotations into SAP.
    Preparing and issuing end user statements.
    Managing invoice clearance and resolving invoice queries.
    Supporting Quality Notification (QN) management activities.
    Assisting with supplier pre-qualification and qualification processes.
    Building positive supplier relationships and resolving complex supplier queries.
    Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities are completed efficiently and on time.What we're looking for:
    Previous experience in a Buyer, Procurement or Purchasing role.
    Experience working within aerospace, engineering or manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
    Good understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
    Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
    Experience of using Excel and other MS Office applications
    Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
    A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
