How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architect to join the Pre-Construction team of a leading international engineering and construction organisation.

This role offers the opportunity to work on some of Europe's most technically challenging and prestigious projects, including data centres, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, commercial and other mission-critical developments.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary pre-construction team, you will provide architectural expertise throughout the tender and pre-construction phases, helping to develop innovative, buildable and commercially viable solutions that support successful project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Architect who enjoys collaborating with engineers, planners, estimators and construction professionals to influence projects from concept through to construction planning.

    The Role

Reporting into the Pre-Construction team, you will play a key role in reviewing architectural designs, identifying opportunities for value engineering and ensuring projects are fully coordinated prior to construction.

Working closely with internal departments, design consultants and specialist subcontractors, you will assess technical solutions, construction methodologies and project risks while helping to develop competitive tender submissions for major projects across Europe.

    Key Responsibilities

    Architectural Design & Technical Review

Review architectural designs during tender and pre-construction stages.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to develop practical and buildable project solutions.

Ensure architectural proposals align with programme, cost and construction requirements.

Review building systems, construction details and specification compliance.

Support design coordination between architectural, structural and MEP disciplines.

    Pre-Construction Support

Identify opportunities for value engineering and alternative construction methodologies.

Review programme implications and sequencing of construction activities.

Assess temporary works requirements and construction interfaces.

Support the development of site logistics strategies, lifting studies and construction planning.

Assist with construction methodology development for complex projects.

    Supply Chain & Procurement

Prepare technical information for subcontract package enquiries.

Work closely with specialist subcontractors during tender stages.

Evaluate subcontractor proposals through detailed technical and commercial comparisons.

Support procurement teams in selecting compliant and competitive solutions.

    Risk Management

Identify technical, design and construction risks.

Develop practical mitigation strategies during pre-construction.

Contribute to design reviews and project workshops.

Support the delivery of compliant, competitive and high-quality tender submissions.

    About You

We're looking for a technically strong Architect who enjoys solving complex construction challenges and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

You will be able to balance design intent with buildability, programme requirements and commercial considerations while contributing positively throughout the pre-construction process.

    Skills & Experience

    The successful candidate will possess:

Master's Degree in Architecture (M.Arch) or equivalent professional qualification.

Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience within the construction or design industry.

Strong understanding of architectural design, construction detailing and modern building systems.

Good knowledge of structural and civil engineering principles.

Experience reviewing complex technical drawings and specifications.

    Excellent communication and coordination skills.

    Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common design coordination platforms.

    Desirable Experience

Experience within any of the following sectors would be highly advantageous:

    Data Centres

    Life Sciences

    Pharmaceutical

    Advanced Manufacturing

    Commercial Developments

    Industrial Facilities

    Mission Critical Infrastructure

    Experience with:

    Contractor or site-based project delivery

BIM coordination and digital design environments

    Design management during pre-construction

    Value engineering and construction planning

    Temporary works coordination

    Tendering and bid development

    What's on Offer

Opportunity to work on some of Europe's most prestigious and technically complex construction projects.

Join a highly regarded international engineering and construction organisation.

Be involved in projects from concept through to construction planning.

Work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment alongside industry-leading professionals.

Excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development.

Exposure to innovative construction techniques and cutting-edge digital technologies.

Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Long-term career stability with a growing international business.

    Apply

If you are an experienced Architect looking to develop your career within a world-class pre-construction environment, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work on landmark projects while helping shape innovative, efficient and buildable construction solutions across a diverse portfolio of major developments
