How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Demolition Site Manager

    Freelance

    Location: South West London
    Rate: £250 – £325 per day (DOE)
    Start: ASAP

    The Opportunity

    We are working with an established specialist demolition contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Demolition Site Manager to oversee the demolition, strip-out and temporary works package on a commercial building project in South West London.

    Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in demolition, soft strip and temporary works within the commercial sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage the day-to-day delivery of demolition and strip-out works on a live commercial project.
    Oversee demolition, soft strip, enabling and temporary works activities.
    Coordinate subcontractors, plant, labour and deliveries to ensure works progress in line with programme.
    Ensure all demolition activities are carried out safely and in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.
    Monitor progress, identify programme risks and implement solutions where required.
    Carry out regular site inspections to maintain high standards of health, safety and quality.
    Ensure RAMS, permits to work and site documentation are up to date and compliant.
    Liaise with the Contracts Manager, clients and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
    Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries and progress reports.

    About You

    The successful candidate will have previous experience managing demolition and strip-out projects within the commercial sector and be confident coordinating multiple subcontractors while maintaining the highest health and safety standards.

    You will have:

    Previous experience as a Site Manager on demolition, strip-out or enabling works projects.
    Strong understanding of demolition sequencing and temporary works.
    Experience working on commercial building projects.
    Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
    A proactive approach with a strong focus on health & safety, quality and programme delivery.
