How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Unqualified Teaching Assistant - Specialist Education

    Ormskirk & Skelmersdale
    £109.85 per day
    Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm | Term Time Only
    Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have personal or professional experience supporting individuals with additional needs?
    We are looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work within specialist schools and alternative provisions across Ormskirk and Skelmersdale. You'll be supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

    The Role

    Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
    Assisting students with additional learning, communication and emotional needs.
    Helping to create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
    Supporting teachers with classroom activities and behaviour management.
    Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence and social skills.
    Working across a variety of specialist provisions to meet the individual needs of each setting.

    What We're Looking For

    Personal or professional experience supporting children or adults with additional needs.
    A positive, patient and resilient approach.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
    Flexibility to work across schools in the Ormskirk and Skelmersdale areas.

    Essential Requirements

    An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (UDS), or willingness to apply and pay for a new Enhanced DBS.
    A minimum of two years' employment references.
    The right to work in the UK.

    £109.85 per day.
    Term-time only working pattern.
    Consistent Monday to Friday hours (8:30am-3:30pm).
