How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service Engineer - Industrial / Diesel Engines

    UK Field Based | Up to £55K + Overtime + Vehicle + 33 Days Hols + Benefits

    Join a growing engineering business specialising in industrial diesel engines, power systems and engine‑powered equipment. We're seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support customers across the UK, carrying out servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of engine applications.

    The Role

    Service, maintain and repair diesel and petrol industrial engines
    Diagnose mechanical, electrical faults
    Carry out PPM, breakdowns, fault finding and repair
    Work with Stage V systems, CANbus, ECUs, sensors and 12/24V electrics
    Complete electronic service reports and technical documentation
    Build strong customer relationships and deliver high‑quality support
    Manage your own schedule in a fully field‑based roleAbout You

    We welcome engineers from backgrounds such as:

    Field Service, Diesel, Plant, Generator, Agricultural, Construction, HGV, Powered Access, Forklift
    Strong diagnostics and fault‑finding skills
    Experience with industrial engines, hydraulics, electrics or engine management systems
    NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Plant, Agricultural or Heavy Vehicle Engineering
    Full UK driving licenceDesirable

    Experience with generators, plant machinery, agricultural equipment, compressors, pumps, off‑highway, Hydraulic and Pneumatic engines and systems.
