Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our clients team based in Rochdale, working shifts on a ADHOC-Ongoing basis. This role is ideal for experienced drivers with a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods across various locations, ensuring timely and secure transportation. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics environment, supporting the smooth operation of our supply chain.
Duties
Operate flatbed lorries and other HGV vehicles in compliance with legal and company standards.
Conduct pre-journey safety checks and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy before departure.
Safely load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured properly for transit.
Deliver goods to designated locations within specified timeframes, maintaining punctuality.
Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs.
Adhere to all driving regulations and company policies at all times.
Maintain communication with the dispatch team regarding progress and any issues encountered during deliveries.
Assist with vehicle maintenance reporting as required.
Qualifications
Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed deliveries preferred.
Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and professionalism on the road.
Knowledge of current driving regulations and safety standards in the UK.
Ability to operate large vehicles safely over long distances during night shifts.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in paperwork and vehicle checks.
Flexibility to work night shifts on a regular basis, including weekends if required.
