How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a Civil Engineer looking to work on high-quality residential developments from concept through to completion? This is an excellent opportunity to join an established residential developer with an in-house technical team, where you'll play a key role in the design and delivery of infrastructure for new housing schemes.

    The role

    As a Civil Engineer, you'll become part of an experienced in-house technical team responsible for delivering civil engineering designs across a range of residential developments.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Producing detailed civil engineering designs for residential developments

    Designing highways, drainage, infrastructure, foundations and external works

    Supporting projects through the full technical design process, from concept through to construction

    Collaborating with internal departments and external consultants to ensure designs meet programme and quality requirements

    Contributing technical expertise and innovative solutions throughout project delivery

    Supporting continuous improvement and best practice across the technical team

    What you need to succeed

    Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent industry experience

    Previous experience as a Civil Engineer within either a consultancy or an in-house design team for a residential developer

    Experience designing infrastructure, highways, drainage, foundations and external works for housing developments

    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PDS and FLOW (or similar design software)

    Ideally Chartered (MICE) or Incorporated, although support will be provided for candidates working towards professional accreditation

    Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams

    A proactive approach with a genuine desire to develop your career within residential development
