How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Content Designer - SFIA Level 4

    Rate: £530/day Inside IR35

    Duration: Initial contract until October (extension highly likely)

    Clearance: Active SC required

    Role Overview

    We are looking for an experienced Content Designer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering digital services within the Home Office Migration & Borders Portfolio, supporting work across the Immigration Enforcement domain.

    Working as part of an Agile delivery team, you'll create clear, accessible and user-centred content that helps users complete complex government services. You'll collaborate closely with User Researchers, Service Designers, Interaction Designers, Product Managers and Developers to ensure content meets user needs while aligning with the Government Service Standard.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Capgemini delivery team supporting one of the Home Office's key transformation programmes.

    Key Responsibilities
    * Design, write and iterate user-centred content for digital services
    * Develop content that is clear, concise, accessible and meets GDS standards
    * Work closely with User Researchers to understand user needs and apply research findings to
    content
    * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout discovery, alpha, beta and live phases
    * Review existing content and identify opportunities to improve user journeys
    * Ensure content complies with accessibility standards and plain English principles
    * Contribute to workshops, design sessions and content critiques
    * Work with stakeholders to balance user needs, business requirements and policy constraints
    * Support continuous improvement through content testing and iteration

    Skills & Experience
    * Strong experience as a Content Designer within Agile digital delivery teams
    * Experience designing content for complex digital services
    * Excellent writing, editing and content design skills
    * Strong understanding of user-centred design principles
    * Experience working alongside User Researchers, Designers and Product teams
    * Good understanding of accessibility standards and plain English guidance
    * Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
    * Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

    Desirable
    * Home Office, GDS or wider Central Government experience
    * Experience working within Migration, Borders, Immigration Enforcement or related government
    services
    * Familiarity with the GDS Service Standard, (url removed) Design System and Content Style Guide

    Active SC clearance is required for this role
