How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Research Analyst EMEA Acrylates & Oxo Alcohols (ASAP & GOAP)

    £30 per hour PAYE
    London- SE1
    Fully Office Based
    6 month contract with view for extensions We're looking for a Research Analyst to join a global Market Advisory team, supporting coverage of the EMEA chemicals market. This is a contract role to cover extended leave, offering exposure to global commodity markets and client-facing analysis.

    The Role

    As a Senior Research Analyst II within the Acrylates and Oxo Alcohol Market Advisory Services team, you will contribute to the monthly data gathering, review and analysis for reports used by global chemical producers, traders, and procurement managers. You will focus on the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region, specifically tracking trends and pricing within the Acrylate Monomers, MMA, Oxo Alcohols, and Plasticizers value chains.

    Key responsibilities

    Price Discovery & Reporting: Support in assessing monthly spot and contract prices for Acrylate Monomers (2-EHA, BA, EA and MA), Methyl Methacrylate (MMA), Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP), Oxo-Alcohols (2-EH, n-Butanol, iso-Butanol), and various Plasticizers.
    Price Forecasting: Analyze and interpret how changes in upstream energy and feedstock costs will interact with market forces to create multi-year, monthly price forecasts for Acrylates, MMA, SAP and Oxo Alcohols.
    Report Creation: Assist in writing and compiling monthly Market Advisory reports and contributing data for longer-term World Analysis forecasts through 2060.
    Supply/Demand Modeling: Support in maintaining and updating Global Supply/Demand Balances for the EMEA region, as well as updating plant capacities, production rates and future expansions.
    Trade Flow Analysis: Work with the greater global ASAP and GOAP team.
    Client Support: Initially support and assist the EMEA Principal Analyst with scheduled calls and meetings to gather market intel, with the near-term expectation the Senior Research Analyst II can soon handle some calls independently.

    Successful candidates will have:

    Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering (or similar)
    Experience in market analysis, commodities, or chemical industry
    Demonstrated ability to research through established contacts with diverse market
    Ability to interpret complex data and build insights
    Confident communicator - comfortable with regular calls and stakeholder interaction
    Highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines

    Preferred Skills:

    Knowledge of petrochemicals / commodity markets
    Additional languages (German, French, Spanish, Arabic)
    Experience in pricing, forecasting, or market intelligence
