How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Deputy Manager required for 6 bed EBD home rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

    Combination of shifts and office hours.

    As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in the smooth and effective running of the service. Working closely with the Manager, you’ll help develop and implement strategies that ensure each child receives high-quality, personalised care and educational support.     Key Responsibilities

    * Support the Manager in overseeing all aspects of the Children’s Home, from program development to evaluation.

    * Lead a multidisciplinary team, teachers, support staff, and therapists, while fostering a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    * Work closely with families, educational partners, and external agencies to create personalised learning plans.

    * Monitor and refine interventions to secure positive outcomes for every child.

    * Stay informed on current research, best practices, and developments in special education, embedding new insights into service delivery.

    * Assist with budget management, resource planning, and regulatory compliance.

    Requirements

    * Level 3 Children & Young People Workforce or Health & Social Care

    * Experience supporting people with challenging behaviour, ideally children.

    * Strong understanding of diverse learning needs, learning styles, and intervention approaches.

    * Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

    * Ability to motivate and inspire a team, cultivating a supportive, high-performing environment.

    * Knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to special education.

    * Flexibility and confidence working in a fast-paced environment.
