Are you an experienced Freight Forwarder with a strong understanding of import and export procedures? We're recruiting on behalf of a growing logistics business in Immingham that is expanding its operational team due to increased workload. This is an excellent opportunity for a Freight Forwarder to join a busy and established operation, coordinating international shipments, managing customs requirements and building strong relationships with customers, hauliers and shipping partners.
As a Freight Forwarder, you will play an important role in ensuring goods are moved efficiently and compliantly across international supply chains.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery
Managing customs formalities and transport documentation
Liaising with customers, shipping lines, hauliers and suppliers to ensure smooth shipment movements
Tracking and monitoring consignments, resolving any operational issues that arise
Maintaining accurate customer records and shipment information
Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and freight procedures
Providing a high level of customer service throughout the shipping process
Supporting the wider operations team in a fast-paced logistics environment
To be successful in this Freight Forwarder role, you should have:
Previous experience within freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, transport planning or supply chain operations
Knowledge of import and export customs procedures
Strong communication and organisational skills
Experience building positive relationships with customers and suppliers
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
The ability to manage workloads independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment
The following would be advantageous:
Experience using Destin8
Knowledge of container movements and port operations
Understanding of European trailer and road freight operations
Experience working within a freight forwarding or customs clearance environment
