Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Smethwick is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning through high-quality 1:1 and targeted group support.
In this role, you will:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs, adapting learning to meet individual needs
Deliver small group interventions to develop communication, social, emotional and academic skills
Support pupils with Autism, speech and language needs, SEMH and other additional needs
Implement personalised strategies, visual supports and behaviour plans to promote engagement and independence
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support where requiredYou'll need:
A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent in a relevant subject.
Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary or specialist setting
A strong understanding of EHCP targets and how to support pupils in achieving them
Confidence delivering both 1:1 support and structured small group interventions
