How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

As the Registered Manager, you will provide confident leadership, effective management, and daily oversight of the home, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. You will foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for the children in your care.

Lead and manage the daily operations of an Ofsted-registered children’s residential home.
Inspire, support, and develop a high-performing team through strong leadership, supervision, and coaching.
Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and organisational policies.
Promote a positive, child-centred culture where children feel safe, respected, and empowered.
Develop and oversee personalised care plans tailored to each young person’s unique needs.
Build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and families.
Monitor and drive positive outcomes for children and young people.
Manage the home’s budget and resources efficiently and responsibly.
Maintain accurate records and complete all statutory notifications and reporting requirements promptly.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to achieve and sustain a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.

    About You

To excel in this role, you will have:

Experience working within a children’s residential home setting.
At least one year’s experience in a supervisory or management position within children’s residential care.
A thorough understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the Ofsted regulatory framework.
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or a willingness to attain this qualification.
Eligibility to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
A genuine commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
A resilient, compassionate, and proactive leadership approach.

    Desirable

Experience managing a home rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
Therapeutic care experience or relevant training.
    Full UK driving licence.

    What’s on Offer?

Competitive salary of £55,000 - £60,000 per annum.
    Permanent, full-time position.
Opportunity to lead a dedicated team and shape the future of the service.
Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
    Supportive senior leadership team.
The chance to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of children and young people.
