Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee daily nursery activities, ensuring they meet developmental and educational standards
* Understands the EYFS and Safeguarding
* Plan, organise, and implement engaging learning experiences tailored to children's individual needs
* Supervise and support nursery staff, promoting teamwork and professional development
* Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors
* Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
* Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare regulations and policies
* Monitor children's progress and maintain accurate records of their development
* Contribute to the ongoing improvement of nursery practices through reflective practice and feedback
Qualifications
* Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting
* Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development
* Previous management or leadership experience within a childcare environment is desirable
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
* Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential
* Valid DBS check and relevant safeguarding training
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and lead others confidently
* A driving licence is advantageous for roles requiring travel between settings or activities outside the nursery
