ROLE OVERVIEW
The Scheme Manager is responsible for both the day-to-day management of the scheme and the maintenance and repair of the building, communal areas and gardens. The postholder will support residents aged 55+ to live independently, while ensuring the scheme is well maintained, safe and aesthetically appealing. A key part of the role includes regular maintenance of the communal gardens.
What you will be doing
Supporting residents’ wellbeing through regular contact and day-to-day oversight, including daily welfare checks.
Responding to emergency calls and coordinating support when needed
Encouraging social activities and building a strong inclusive community spirit
Liaising with families, GPs and external agencies to support residents
Overseeing communal areas and working with contractors to maintain high standards
Carrying out health & safety checks and ensuring compliance
Gardening & Grounds Maintenance
Maintain gardens, lawns and planted areas
Carry out planting, including seasonal bedding
Weeding, pruning, hedge cutting and lawn care
Maintain and clear paths and communal outdoor areas
Use weed control safely
Maintain tools and equipment
Improve outdoor spaces
Keep outdoor areas safe and presentable
Maintenance & Repairs
Carry out minor repairs and maintenance
Change lightbulbs, fuses and batteries
Report repairs and to liaise with the Repairs Team and contractors.About you
