How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview

    An exciting opportunity for a qualified Secondary School Maths Teacher has arisen to join the supportive team teaching well behaved Key Stage Three and GCSE children. The successful Maths Teacher will teach motivated pupils from Year 7 to Year 11 on weekday evenings and/or Saturdays, and work to complement and enhance the Maths work secondary school age children undertake at school.

    Secondary School Maths Teacher Responsibilities:

    * Patience in explaining challenging Maths concepts to high and low ability pupils

    * To break down complex concepts into step by step and simple bite sized explanations

    * Confidence in explaining challenging Maths concepts orally and step by step by showing children how to write down working out using the correct mathematical notation

    * An ability to communicate to students an in depth understanding of GCSE exam paper and exam board requirements

    * Encouraging and showing pupils how to practise past Maths GCSE exam papers

    * Helping Secondary school age children to achieve real improvements in their Maths school grades

    * Working on an individual basis, helping students to achieve tremendous progress in a relatively short period of time

    * Experience in teaching the UK National Curriculum in Maths

    Secondary School Maths Teacher Requirements:

    * You must be a well-organised, dynamic and hardworking individual

    * Experience as a Secondary School Maths Teacher with a PGCE/BEd qualification

    * Demonstrable experience teaching the UK National Curriculum in Maths

    * Excellent student interaction skills in small groups and one-to-one settings

    * DBS clearance and support from two referees

    * Commitment to sessions on regular days and times is highly desirable

    * Experienced secondary school Maths teaching assistants will be considered if they have confidence and demonstrable experience teaching high and low ability Maths up to Year 11

    * Knowledge of teaching A-Level Maths and/or Eleven Plus and Verbal/Non-Verbal Reasoning is desirable but not essential
