How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

    Kent (Hybrid – 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home)
    £45,000 - £65,000 DOE

    A well-established building services consultancy is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team in Kent. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while progressing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking consultancy.

    The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of mechanical building services solutions across a variety of sectors, working closely with clients, architects and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality projects from concept through to completion.

    The Role

    Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and domestic water services.
    Produce detailed calculations, reports, specifications and technical drawings.
    Coordinate designs with electrical, structural and architectural teams.
    Attend client and design team meetings.
    Carry out site visits and surveys where required.
    Support the successful delivery of projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
    Mentor junior engineers where appropriate.Requirements

    Experience working within a UK building services consultancy.
    Intermediate or Senior level experience in mechanical building services design.
    Proficiency with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit and mechanical design packages.
    Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance.
    Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
    Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
    Working towards or already Chartered status is desirable but not essential.What's on Offer
