This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of strategic decision-making, partnering with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight, challenge and support that helps deliver EMCCA's priorities and long-term ambitions.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Finance Business Partner, you'll:
Build strong relationships with senior leaders, providing trusted financial advice and constructive challenge
Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance management activities
Deliver insightful financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decisions
Support business cases, funding bids and financial modelling for key projects and programmes
Identify risks, opportunities and areas for continuous improvement
Promote strong financial governance and value for money across the organisation
Support major capital projects and investment programmes
Work collaboratively across the Finance Directorate to deliver an excellent finance service
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a qualified finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills.
You will have:
Full CCAB qualification (or equivalent) and a commitment to continuing professional development
Significant experience providing financial advice within a large and complex organisation
Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial performance management
Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience driving process improvements and enhancing financial performance
A proactive, solution-focused approach and the confidence to take ownership
Experience supporting large-scale programmes, projects or capital investment activityExperience within Local Government, a Combined Authority, or a similarly complex public sector environment would be advantageous.
