How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in the Ellesmere Port area to recruit an experienced Family Help Lead Practitioner to join their Children and Families service.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and families through early intervention, whole-family working and multi-agency collaboration.

    As a Family Help Lead Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering Family Help services that safeguard and support children and young people.

    You will undertake assessments, coordinate support plans, deliver evidence-based interventions and work closely with families and partner agencies to ensure children can thrive in safe and supportive environments.

    Working within a strengths-based, trauma-informed framework, you will champion the voice of the child and help families achieve sustainable positive outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Undertake holistic assessments of children, young people and families to identify needs and risks.
    Develop, coordinate and review effective support plans that achieve positive outcomes.
    Work in partnership with schools, health services and other agencies to deliver multi-agency interventions.
    Chair professional meetings and ensure clear actions, decisions and records are maintained.
    Deliver evidence-based interventions and promote whole-family working approaches.
    Advocate for children and families, helping to reduce barriers to support services.
    Maintain accurate case records and contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes where required.Key Requirements

    Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered) or relevant Level 3 Childcare qualification with significant experience working with children and families.
    Experience undertaking assessments and managing family support cases within children's services.
    Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection procedures and relevant legislation.
    Understanding of the Families First Partnership framework and early intervention principles.
    Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
    Ability to build effective relationships with families, professionals and partner agencies.
    Enhanced DBS clearance and the ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
    Pay Rate: £17.85 PAYE
    Working pattern - 37 hours per week, onsite.
