How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant - Towcester (Primary School)

    Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire
    Start Date: September 2026
    Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

    Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Towcester to recruit an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2026.

    The Role

    As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and the wider support team, you will help deliver personalised support that enables pupils to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND

    Work alongside class teachers and the SENDCo to implement personalised learning plans and interventions

    Support pupils with a range of learning, communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs

    Adapt classroom activities and learning resources to meet individual requirements

    Encourage independence, resilience, and active participation in learning

    Foster positive behaviour and support pupils' emotional wellbeing

    Observe, monitor, and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff

    Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies where appropriate

    Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

    Support the wider school ethos by promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all pupils

    About You

    Experience supporting children with SEND within a school or similar educational setting

    A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with children

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

    Confidence working both independently and as part of a collaborative team

    Strong literacy and numeracy skills

    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

    Teaching Assistant or SEND-related qualifications are beneficial but not essential
