How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Operating within a highly regulated engineering environment, this organisation supplies precision-engineered products to customers worldwide and is committed to delivering exceptional quality across its global supply chain.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a business investing in continuous improvement, supplier development and engineering excellence.

    Monday – Friday (Days)

    Job Description:

    As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will take ownership of supplier quality performance, ensuring components and materials consistently meet the highest standards. Working closely with suppliers, internal teams and international operations, the Supplier Quality Engineer will play a key role in driving quality improvements across the supply chain.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Conducting supplier assessments and quality audits.

    * Managing supplier non-conformances and corrective actions (CAPA).

    * Reviewing supplier documentation including PPAPs, FMEAs and Control Plans.

    * Supporting contract reviews and quality planning activities including APQP and ITPs.

    * Ensuring incoming materials comply with quality requirements.

    * Monitoring supplier performance and developing supplier improvement plans.

    * Supporting continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma principles.

    * Producing supplier quality reports, maintaining quality records and vendor ratings.

    * Collaborating with UK and international teams, including occasional overseas travel.

    Skills & Experience:

    The successful Supplier Quality Engineer will have:

    * Previous experience within Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment.

    * Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.

    * Experience with PPAP, FMEA, 8D, SPC and CAPA processes.

    * Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier performance.

    * HNC in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline (Degree desirable).

    * Lean Six Sigma Green Belt would be advantageous.

    * Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

    * Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

    * Experience within heavy engineering, precision engineering or project-based manufacturing would be advantageous.
