How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quality Control Manager

    Location: East Anglia
    Salary: £58,000–£61,500 per annum
    Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Nexus Careers Group is recruiting on behalf of an established facilities and engineering services provider responsible for delivering a sensitive UK government contract.

Due to the secure nature of the work, our client’s identity and the exact site location will remain confidential during the initial advertising stage. Further information will be provided to suitably qualified applicants as they progress through the recruitment process.

    The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager to take ownership of quality assurance and compliance across a complex, operational government facility.

You will have the authority to challenge non-compliant work, request corrective action and require defective materials or workmanship to be removed, replaced or completed again where necessary.

The position will oversee the site’s Quality Management System, ensuring that contractual obligations, customer expectations, regulatory requirements and ISO 9001:2015 standards are consistently achieved.

This is a senior, autonomous position requiring someone who can combine detailed auditing and inspection work with clear reporting, stakeholder management and practical problem-solving.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage, maintain and continually improve the site Quality Management System.

    * Ensure continued compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and contractual quality requirements.

    * Plan and complete internal audits, workplace inspections and process evaluations.

    * Identify non-conformances and establish appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

    * Monitor corrective actions through to satisfactory completion and formal close-out.

    * Act as the principal quality contact for the customer and operational management team.

    * Produce quality plans, procedures, policies, reports and performance summaries.

    * Analyse quality data and provide management with clear information on performance, trends and areas of concern.

    * Review the quality of planned and reactive maintenance activities.

    * Confirm that maintenance records, equipment logs, service cards and asset documentation are accurate and appropriately maintained.

    * Monitor subcontractor performance and maintain the supporting evaluation records.

    * Review subcontracted work to ensure it meets the same quality and compliance standards as directly delivered services.

    * Support managers and operational teams with quality awareness, procedures and training.

    * Protect confidential, commercially sensitive and government-related information.

    * Represent quality matters within management meetings and advise senior stakeholders on required improvements.

    * Preserve the integrity and effectiveness of the Quality Management System during operational or contractual changes.

    Candidate Requirements

    * At least five years’ experience in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance or Quality Management position with a comparable level of responsibility.

    * Experience working within a complex facilities management, engineering, infrastructure, government, defence or similarly regulated environment.

    * Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and Quality Management Systems.

    * Demonstrable experience developing quality plans, procedures and operating standards.

    * Previous responsibility for internal audits, inspections, non-conformance reporting and corrective action management.

    * Confidence challenging defective work and holding internal teams and subcontractors accountable.

    * Excellent written communication, reporting and document-control skills.

    * Professional and credible when dealing with customers, senior management and operational personnel.

    * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and associated reporting systems.

    * Able to manage competing priorities, work independently and meet contractual deadlines.

    * A relevant quality qualification or further education would be advantageous, although substantial relevant experience will also be considered.

    * Full UK driving licence.

    Working Environment

The role combines office-based quality administration with regular inspections across an operational engineering and facilities environment.

Applicants must be comfortable walking around a large site, climbing stairs and occasionally bending, kneeling, reaching or lifting items weighing up to approximately 9kg.

Reasonable workplace adjustments will be considered where required.

Because of the sensitive government environment, the successful applicant may be required to complete client-specific background checks or security-vetting procedures. Full details will be explained during the recruitment process.

    Package

    Salary of £58,000–£61,500 per annum.

    Permanent, full-time position.

    Senior and autonomous quality-management responsibility.

Opportunity to support a significant, technically complex government contract.

Further company benefits will be discussed during the recruitment process.

    Confidentiality

All applications will be handled confidentially by Nexus Careers Group. The client’s identity and precise site details will only be disclosed to suitable candidates at the appropriate stage.

Nexus Careers Group and our client are committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from suitably qualified individuals from all backgrounds
