How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Engineering Manager

    Location: Bourne, Lincolnshire
    Salary: £60,000
    Shift: Sunday - Thursday | Days

    The Company

    A well-established food manufacturing business is looking to strengthen its engineering department with the appointment of an Engineering Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager or an Engineering Team Leader/Supervisor looking to take the next step in their career.

    The business is continuing to invest in its people, equipment and processes, making this an exciting time to join and play a key role in driving engineering performance and delivering site improvement projects.

    The Role

    As Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineering function, ensuring maximum equipment reliability while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Leading, developing and motivating the engineering team.

    Managing planned and reactive maintenance activities.

    Delivering engineering and capital projects from concept through to completion.

    Driving continuous improvement and equipment reliability.

    Working closely with Production, Technical and Operations teams to improve site performance.

    Managing engineering budgets, contractors and spare parts where required.

    Ensuring all engineering activities comply with health & safety and food safety standards.

    The Candidate

    The successful candidate will have:

    Previous experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.

    Experience managing or supervising an engineering team.

    Proven experience delivering engineering or capital projects.

    Strong leadership and communication skills.

    A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive change.

    A recognised engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent) is desirable.
