How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Shift Engineer

    Location: City of London
    Salary: Up to £55,800 per annum + Overtime Available

    Are you an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer looking to join a market-leading building services provider with excellent career prospects, outstanding benefits, and the opportunity to work on a prestigious site in the heart of the City of London?

    We are seeking a skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to become part of a professional engineering team, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a high-profile commercial building.

    The Role

    Working a continental shift pattern (Days & Nights), you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all electrical and associated building services systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability.

    Shift Pattern:

    * Continental Days & Nights

    * 7:00am – 7:00pm / 7:00pm – 7:00am

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.

    * Fault find and repair electrical systems and associated plant.

    * Maintain lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting and control systems.

    * Respond promptly to plant failures and emergency call-outs.

    * Complete maintenance reports and ensure accurate record keeping using CAFM systems.

    * Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety regulations.

    * Liaise with subcontractors and site management where required.

    * Support the continuous improvement of building performance and reliability.

    Requirements

    * NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Engineering.

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

    * Previous experience working within commercial building maintenance or critical environments.

    * Strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance skills.

    * Good communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

    * Ability to work independently as part of a shift team.
