How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    In this role, the successful Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for reading and interpreting both engineering drawings alongside hydraulic circuit diagrams in order to build, assemble and test hydraulic and pneumatic systems. In addition, you will also be responsible for repairing and overhauling hydraulic equipment such, including, but not limited to: cylinders, pumps, valves and power packs etc... alongside troubleshooting and diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs. On top of this, you will be responsible for manufacturing or modifying components where required as well as pressure testing and quality checking completed work. Finally, you will be responsible for keeping accurate documentation of any projects worked.

    The ideal Mechanical Assembly Technician or similar will come from a background within the Mechanical Engineering sector or a related field. In addition, you will also have prior working experience within a manufacturing/production environment or similar. On top of this, you will have prior experience within an Assembly Technician position or similar, specifically prior experience forming hydraulic products. Occasionally, you will be responsible for assisting in both site installations/commission. Finally, you will have strong organisational, communicational and analytical skills, with the ability to work well both a part of a team as well as autonomously.

    The Role:

    Build, assemble and test hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    Reading and interpreting both engineering drawings alongside hydraulic circuit diagrams
    Troubleshooting and diagnosing faults and carrying out repairsThe Person:
