How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    IS Applications Lead

    Location: Barrow-in-Furness

    Salary: Competitive – DOE

    Contract: Full Time | Long-Term Opportunity

    Land and Sea Resources are recruiting on behalf of a leading energy operator for an experienced IS Applications Lead to join their Information Systems team in Barrow-in-Furness.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Applications professional to lead the delivery, governance and continual improvement of a complex enterprise applications environment, with SAP at its core. The successful candidate will provide technical and commercial oversight of the organisation's application estate, managing outsourced service providers whilst ensuring systems remain secure, resilient and aligned with business objectives.

    The role offers significant responsibility across application strategy, vendor management, cyber assurance, project delivery and SAP governance within a highly regulated operational environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead the delivery, performance and governance of the organisation's enterprise applications estate.

    * Maintain application processes, procedures, technical documentation and Service Catalogue.

    * Ensure applications remain secure, resilient, scalable and fit for business requirements.

    * Act as the primary point of contact for application-related audits, assurance activities and external reviews.

    * Manage third-party application vendors, commercial agreements and outsourced service providers.

    * Oversee application lifecycle management, including implementation, maintenance, upgrades and retirement.

    * Deliver application projects including upgrades, migrations, system enhancements and new implementations.

    * Coordinate testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.

    * Manage software licensing, renewals, contracts and application budgets.

    * Support cyber security initiatives, security assessments, incident response and control assurance activities.

    * Lead major application incidents and coordinate resolution with internal teams and external suppliers.Manage Master Data Management processes across business applications.

    SAP Responsibilities

    * Provide governance of the SAP landscape, ensuring security, performance and reliability.

    * Oversee SAP hosting, technical support and integration services.

    * Manage SAP change, release and upgrade activities, acting as Design Authority and Gatekeeper.

    * Coordinate change requests between business stakeholders and external SAP service providers.

    * Ensure SAP controls comply with shareholder and regulatory requirements.

    * Manage outsourced SAP support contracts and supplier performance.

    * Collaborate with senior stakeholders regarding future SAP strategy and planned contract renewals.

    Candidate Requirements

    * Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

    * Significant experience managing enterprise business applications within a complex technical environment.

    * Strong understanding of SAP application management, governance and change control.

    * Experience managing outsourced service providers and third-party vendors.

    * Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Power BI and PowerApps.

    * Experience developing technical documentation, procedures and service catalogues.

    * Good understanding of software licensing models, contract management and commercial governance.

    * Strong knowledge of IT General Controls, particularly those relating to SAP.

    * Experience with incident, problem and change management processes.Understanding of cyber security principles and the Cyber Assessment Framework.Excellent stakeholder management, communication and project delivery skills.
