How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About Gulmay - We are a world-leading manufacturer of high-voltage X-ray generators, controllers, and complete X-ray subsystems used in medical research, security, and industrial non-destructive testing (NDT). We provide equipment for sectors like aerospace, automotive manufacturing, and baggage screening.

    Role Overview of Test Operator - Testing of Gulmay generators to ensure 100% quality/process compliance

    Key Responsibilities of Electrical Test Operator -

    * Strict compliance with health and safety practices and company procedures.

    * Testing associated components & generators in accordance with test specs, completing detailed test reports.

    * Recording any non - conformance into a data log.

    * Support regular maintenance of test equipment also complies with 6S discipline of working areas.

    Essential Requirements for Electrical Test Operator-

    * Proven experience of working with analogue & digital circuitry.

    * At least 5 years’ experience in a similar test role.

    * Experience in a technical complex, low volume test cell.

    * Good PC Skills (MS Office) – Excel

    * Proven ability to communicate effectively on all levels and team player.

    * Ability to read circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and follow written instructions.

    * Experience of problem-solving, continuous improvements.

    * Self-motivated individual, continuous improvement.

    * Flexible approach to inter-department support when required.

    * Familiarity with test bench equipment, including Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters (DMM) and Power Supply Units (PSU).

    * Ability to perform physical tasks, lifting products within H&S regulations.

    Desirable Requirements for Electrical Test Operator-

    * Experience of working with engineering developing the testing of new product, creating test plans and procedures.

    * High power switch mode PSU Electronics experience.

    * Hands on analogue/HV/power electronic experience

    * Knowledge of High voltage Generator equipment or similar engineered products would be an

    * advantage.

    * CAD, MATLAB experience desirable.

    * PCB soldering/testing experience desirable.

    * Experience of fault finding to component level.

    * Experience with radiation testing & compliance procedures.

    * Preferred HND/HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline

    This is a fully site-based role, so applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of KT14 7JL
