How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Inventory Planning Manager - Spider is advertising on behalf of a fast-growing luxury homeware retail business for an Inventory Planning Manager to join their team on a permanent basis, based in North London, offering hybrid working.

    About the role

    As an Inventory Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing data-driven inventory strategies to ensure the right products are available at the right time while maintaining efficient stock investment. You will work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouse teams and internal stakeholders to manage replenishment, purchasing and inventory performance across the business.

    This is a commercially focused role that offers the opportunity to influence decision-making through data analysis while supporting the continued growth of a successful luxury retail brand.

    Working hours for this role will be 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am - 6pm.

    Main responsibilities and Duties:

    Take ownership of inventory planning, forecasting and replenishment across the full product portfolio, ensuring optimal stock levels and product availability.
    Raise and manage purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, coordinate inbound shipments and build strong relationships with manufacturing partners, freight forwarders and logistics providers.
    Analyse historical sales trends, demand patterns, promotional activity and seasonal forecasts to develop accurate inventory plans and identify potential supply risks.
    Monitor inventory performance, investigate stock discrepancies, manage stock counts and recommend actions to improve stock turnover while reducing excess and obsolete inventory.
    Maintain accurate product data, implementing consistent product coding and naming conventions across multiple business systems.
    Produce regular management reports and dashboards covering stock availability, inventory accuracy, supplier performance, purchase order metrics and working capital, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across inventory planning processes and systems.

    About you:

    To be successful in this role, you will have at least five years' experience in inventory planning, demand planning, supply planning or stock management, with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret inventory and sales data. You will be highly organised, commercially aware, and experienced using Inventory Planning, ERP or MRP systems, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

    Experience within retail, wholesale, distribution or eCommerce, managing long supplier lead times, would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Power BI, importing from Asia or CIPS qualifications. You will be a proactive team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
