As we continue to grow, we are seeking a proactive and driven Mechanical Project Manager to join our M&E division to deliver projects to completion - ensuring they are on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of all parties, exceeding expectations wherever possible.
Position
As a Mechanical Project Manager at BJF Group, you will provide leadership across the full project lifecycle - identifying and specifying project opportunities from the outset through to delivering contractual commitments on secured projects.
Working closely with the wider M&E team, the Mechanical Project Manager will also ensure that BJF Group site procedures and processes are in place and operating effectively, with works being delivered to a high level of safety as well as to the required quality standards and specification.
Experience of planning and co-ordinating the delivery of assigned works through the relevant engineering team and supply chain will be key, with the project timelines submitted as part of the bid process needing to be satisfied on time and within budget, all whilst maintaining a focus on organically growing revenue to increase turnover and profitability.
This role will be best suited to an individual with a proven Mechanical background, as well as strong stakeholder management to build effective relationships with sub-contractors and the wider BJF support functions, ensuring cost-effective and quality solutions that will maximise opportunities towards favourable business outcomes.
Key responsibilities of the Electrical Project Manager
Provide leadership in identifying and specifying project opportunities and in delivering contractual commitments on secured projects.
Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of projects are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability.
Deliver projects to completion on time and on budget and to the satisfaction of all parties, expectations to be exceeded wherever possible.
Identify, reduce and manage all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise) associated and ensure compliance with project management policies and procedures.
Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions and that both clients and company health and safety policy and process is effectively implemented and are regularly review on each and every project. This will include the timely delivery of a Health and Safety file for the works and full compliance with CDM regulations.
Build strong relationships with sub-contractors, to ensure cost effective solutions which meet our quality expectations can be delivered to our clients whilst managing the risk and ensuring back-to-back terms and conditions.
Development of project financial plans for revenue and profit delivery and ensuring positive cash flow through the upfront agreement of a relevant payment schedule and the submission of timely invoices/applications for payment.
Manage the delivery of projects within agreed budget requirements with the target to maximise profit through cost reductions and better buying of sub-contractor services.
Ensure appropriate control systems to ensure statutory, policy and contractual commitments are met.
Requirements
NVQ/OND/HND/DEGREE Building Services/Professional/Mechanical or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
Project management qualification or proven track history.
IOSH Managing Safely or equal
NEBOSH National General Certificate or equal
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equal
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
CSCS Card Holder
