The successful candidate will play a key role in the ongoing development, optimisation and support of an established data platform while also mentoring more junior engineers within the team.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining robust data solutions that support a wide range of business and customer-facing applications.
Working closely with engineers, analysts and stakeholders, you'll help drive best practice across data engineering, data quality and platform performance whilst contributing to the evolution of the organisation's data capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop and maintain ETL and data integration solutions
Build and optimise scalable data pipelines using SQL and Python
Support and enhance a cloud-based data platform
Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
Contribute to data modelling and data architecture initiatives
Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues
Contribute to engineering best practices, code reviews and continuous improvement activities
Support infrastructure and platform automation initiatives
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong SQL skills, including complex data manipulation and performance optimisation
Proven experience designing, developing and supporting ETL/data pipeline solutions
Strong Python development experience
Commercial experience working with Snowflake
Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modelling principles
Experience working within Agile delivery environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
