How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Transport Planner (FTC for 9 months with real possiblity of permanent)

    Salary £35,000 per annum

    The Role We are looking for a focused Transport Planner to join our bustling Norwich depot. You will be responsible for routing our diverse fleet, balancing customer delivery demands, and ensuring maximum vehicle utilisation. This is a fast paced environment where quick thinking and sharp problem solving skills are essential to keep our supply chain running smoothly.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan and organise daily delivery routes for our fleet to ensure efficient use of resources

    Minimise empty running and control fuel costs through smart scheduling

    Liaise directly with drivers, briefing them on schedules and monitoring progress throughout the day

    Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and potential delays

    Ensure full compliance with driver hours, working time directives, and road safety regulations

    Adjust schedules dynamically to handle traffic issues, break downs, or changing client demands

    Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure smooth loading and timely departures

    Skills and Experience Needed

    Proven experience as a transport planner within a busy UK general haulage or logistics environment

    Excellent geographical knowledge of East Anglia and the wider UK road network

    Familiarity with transport management systems and vehicle tracking software

    Strong awareness of driver hours rules and compliance standards

    Outstanding communication skills to manage driver queries and client expectations calmly under pressure

    Ability to work well in a team and make sensible decisions when unexpected issues arise
