How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its expanding team. The Senior Project Manager will lead a varied portfolio of commercial and residential developments, managing projects from early feasibility and design through to construction and handover.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager who wants greater project ownership, direct client contact and a clear route for progression. The successful Senior Project Manager will work closely with developers, investors, occupiers and multidisciplinary consultant teams. The Senior Project Manager will lead complex commissions, while the Senior Project Manager will also support junior colleagues and contribute to the continued growth of the Birmingham office.

    You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Senior Project Manager's role

    The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for the successful delivery of commercial and residential projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands. Projects may include new-build developments, refurbishment programmes, workplace schemes and mixed-use projects.

    The Senior Project Manager will establish project briefs, prepare programmes, coordinate design teams and advise clients on procurement and delivery strategy. They will chair meetings, manage project risks and provide clear reports covering programme, quality, cost and key decisions.

    The role will also involve managing consultant appointments, supporting tender processes and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders. The Senior Project Manager will mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers, while helping to identify new project and business development opportunities.

    The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

    Strong project management experience within a UK construction consultancy
    Experience delivering commercial, residential or mixed-use developments
    A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a related discipline
    Chartered status with RICS, APM or CIOB, or advanced progress towards qualification
    Experience managing projects across multiple RIBA stages
    Good knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and project reporting
    Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
    The confidence to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior colleagues
