How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work alongside experienced surveyors, assisting with the commercial management of projects from initial cost advice through to final account. You'll gain valuable exposure to procurement, contract administration, cost reporting, and client liaison, with increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with feasibility studies, cost planning, and budget preparation

Supporting procurement activities and preparing tender documentation

Monitoring project costs, valuations, and variation accounts

Producing cost reports and maintaining commercial records

Attending site inspections, client meetings, and design team reviews

Assisting with contract administration and final account negotiations

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline

Previous UK consultancy experience in a Quantity Surveying role

Exposure to pre- and post-contract cost management

Working towards MRICS or keen to begin the APC pathway

Strong communication, organisation, and analytical skills

Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to long-term career development

    In Return:

    £35,000-£45,000 per annum

Full APC support and structured mentoring

27 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

    Hybrid and flexible working arrangements

    Pension scheme

    Professional membership fees paid

    Broad project exposure across London

Clear progression to Quantity Surveyor and beyond
