The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work alongside experienced surveyors, assisting with the commercial management of projects from initial cost advice through to final account. You'll gain valuable exposure to procurement, contract administration, cost reporting, and client liaison, with increasing responsibility as your experience develops.
This role is ideal for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is eager to accelerate their career, achieve MRICS status, and become a trusted member of a close-knit consultancy delivering high-quality projects across London.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with feasibility studies, cost planning, and budget preparation
Supporting procurement activities and preparing tender documentation
Monitoring project costs, valuations, and variation accounts
Producing cost reports and maintaining commercial records
Attending site inspections, client meetings, and design team reviews
Assisting with contract administration and final account negotiations
Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
Previous UK consultancy experience in a Quantity Surveying role
Exposure to pre- and post-contract cost management
Working towards MRICS or keen to begin the APC pathway
Strong communication, organisation, and analytical skills
Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to long-term career development
