Terms: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm or 7AM - 4PM
Salary/rate: Salary is paying between £55,000 Per annum
Requirements:
F-Gas Category 1 (Must Have)
City & Guilds level 2 in Electrical Engineering
Commercial building maintenance experience in a customer-facing environment
Experience in downflow units, CRAC units and split units An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Static Air Conditioning Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management company at a prestigious critical site in Welwyn Garden City.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a wide range of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment within a critical commercial environment. This role requires a proactive engineer who can ensure maximum system reliability while maintaining high standards of health & safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on air conditioning systems.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
Service, maintain, and repair:
Downflow units
CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units
Split systems
Conduct leak detection, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, pressure testing, and system recharging in accordance with F-Gas regulations.
Replace and repair components including compressors, fan motors, contactors, expansion valves, sensors, thermostats, capacitors, and control boards.
Inspect, clean, and replace filters, belts, coils, condensers, evaporators, and drainage systems to maintain optimum performance.
Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
Carry out temperature checks and performance testing on critical cooling systems.
Complete routine inspections and identify remedial works before equipment failures occur.
Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and minimise downtime within the critical environment.
Liaise with the client regarding maintenance schedules, repairs, and system performance.
Ensure all work complies with current health & safety legislation, F-Gas regulations, and company procedures.
Complete electronic job sheets, service reports, and asset documentation accurately
