How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Employer Engagement Officer – Construction
    Salary: £28,192 - £30,879 per annum
    Hours: Full Time | 37 hours per week
    Contract: Permanent

    An exciting opportunity has become available for an Employer Engagement Officer to join our clients Employer Engagement team. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll work closely with employers across the construction sector, developing long-term partnerships that support business growth while creating outstanding opportunities for learners.
    About the Role
    As the main point of contact for construction employers, you will develop new business opportunities, strengthen existing relationships and promote a wide range of education and training solutions. Working towards income and performance targets, you'll identify employer needs and match them with apprenticeship programmes, commercial training, funded learning opportunities and other skills development services.
    This position is ideal for someone with a proven sales or business development background who enjoys networking, building relationships and delivering excellent customer service.
    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers within the construction industry.
    Identify and secure new business opportunities through networking, business development activity and proactive outreach.
    Manage an existing portfolio of employer accounts while identifying opportunities to expand services.
    Meet and exceed income and business development targets.
    Provide employers with advice on apprenticeships, funded training programmes, commercial courses and workforce development solutions.
    Prepare proposals, quotations, tenders and presentations to support new business opportunities.
    Attend employer meetings, networking events and industry forums to represent the College.
    Maintain accurate records using the College CRM system and produce sales forecasts and reports.
    Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure employers receive an outstanding customer experience.
    Support marketing initiatives that promote employer services and training opportunities.
    Respond promptly and professionally to employer enquiries, providing a high standard of customer service.
    Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion and health and safety in all aspects of the role.
    Undertake any other duties appropriate to the position.About You
    We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, commercially minded and motivated by building successful partnerships.
    You'll ideally have:

    Experience within business development, sales or employer engagement.
    A successful track record of achieving or exceeding sales or income targets.
    Experience managing employer or business accounts.
    Confidence in generating new business through networking and proactive engagement.
    Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate sales pipelines.
    Knowledge of the construction sector (desirable).
    An understanding of apprenticeships or further education funding (desirable).
    A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.Benefits:
