How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Team Leader - Residential Children's Home (EBD)

    Location: Branston, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire (DE14)

    Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum + Sleep-In Payments + Overtime + Enhanced Shift Rates

    Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent

    We are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Team Leader to join a therapeutic 3-bed Children's Residential Home in Branston, supporting young people aged 8-17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a provider that delivers high-quality, trauma-informed care and is committed to helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes within a safe, nurturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home.

    Support, mentor and guide Residential Support Workers.

    Deliver high-quality care in line with individual care plans.

    Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.

    Promote positive outcomes through therapeutic and trauma-informed practice.

    Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

    Maintain accurate records, reports and care documentation.

    Work in partnership with social workers, schools, healthcare professionals and families.

    Support compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards.

    Requirements

    Essential:

    Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

    Previous experience within a Children's Residential Home.

    Experience supporting children and young people with EBD and complex needs.

    Good understanding of safeguarding and residential childcare regulations.

    Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and attachment theory.

    Full UK Driving Licence.

    Desirable:

    Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Leadership & Management qualification.

    Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader.

    Experience working within therapeutic residential settings.

    Understanding of Ofsted frameworks and inspections.
