How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role Summary

You’ll lead an EBD home in Tottenham, providing stable, therapeutic, relationship‑based care for children aged 8–17. This role suits an experienced Registered Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands the realities of EBD behaviours, and can build a high‑performing team around consistent boundaries, emotional warmth, and trauma‑informed practice.

You’ll have full operational responsibility for the home, ensuring compliance, safeguarding excellence, and a culture where staff feel supported and children feel safe, heard, and valued.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Culture

    * Provide strong, visible leadership that models trauma‑informed, child‑centred practice.

    * Build and maintain a positive, resilient team culture with high expectations and high support.

    * Recruit, train, mentor, and develop staff to deliver outstanding care.

    * Lead by example in managing challenging behaviour, crisis situations, and complex emotional needs.

    Safeguarding & Compliance

    * Act as the Ofsted Registered Manager, ensuring the home meets Outstanding/Good inspection standards.

    * Maintain full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, Working Together, and all statutory guidance.

    * Oversee robust safeguarding practice, ensuring timely reporting, escalation, and multi‑agency collaboration.

    * Ensure all policies, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans are up to date and implemented consistently.

    Operational Management

    * Manage the home’s budget, staffing rota, resources, and occupancy levels.

    * Ensure high‑quality recording, reporting, and data management across all systems.

    * Lead on referrals, matching, and placement stability planning.

    * Maintain the home environment to a high standard, ensuring it feels safe, homely, and nurturing.

    Child‑Focused Practice

    * Develop and oversee individualised care plans, placement plans, and therapeutic strategies.

    * Ensure children’s voices shape daily practice, routines, and decision‑making.

    * Promote education, health, emotional wellbeing, and positive community engagement.

    * Drive progress against outcomes, ensuring each child’s journey is measurable, meaningful, and celebrated.

    Partnership & Communication

    * Build strong relationships with social workers, IROs, therapists, schools, and external agencies.

    * Represent the home professionally in meetings, reviews, and multi‑agency forums.

    * Maintain transparent communication with senior leadership, commissioners, and regulators.

    Requirements

    * Ideally a minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Manager within an EBD or similar children’s residential setting.

    * Proven track record of achieving at least a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in your most recent inspection.

    * Ideally experienced managing larger homes (minimum 3 beds), with strong evidence of maintaining stability, structure, and high-quality practice in a busy environment.

    * Ideally have at least two Ofsted inspections completed as Registered Manager within the same home to demonstrate consistency, service development, and sustained compliance.

    * Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).

    * Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, attachment, behaviour support, and therapeutic care models.

    * Confident managing crises, high-risk behaviours, and complex emotional needs.

    * Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to build a resilient, high-performing team.

    * Commitment to safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and child-centred practice
