How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Project Manager - Thames Water AMP8 | Thames Valley

    Location: Abingdon
    Salary: £60,000-£70,000 +package (DOE)
    Company: Tier 1 Contractor - Infrastructure Division

    We are working with a Tier 1 contractor who is expanding its Infrastructure Division to deliver a significant programme of AMP8 works for Thames Water. With approximately £250 million of projects secured across the Thames Valley this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering essential water infrastructure projects.

    The Project Manager will oversee major treatment works projects within the Thames Water framework.

    The Role

    As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and successful delivery of treatment works projects from construction through to completion. You will manage programme, commercial performance, quality, health & safety, and client relationships while leading multidisciplinary delivery teams.

    Responsibilities

    Manage projects from construction through to completion and handover
    Deliver projects safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards
    Manage project programmes, resources, risks, and project performance
    Build and maintain strong relationships with Thames Water and key stakeholders
    Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
    Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements, CDM regulations and company procedures
    Produce regular progress reports, attend client, and project meetings
    Drive high standards of health, safety and environmental performance

    About You

    We are keen to speak with experienced Project Managers from the water sector, but we will also consider candidates with a strong civil engineering or major infrastructure background.

    Suitable backgrounds include:

    Water and wastewater infrastructure
    Sewage treatment works (STW)
    Clean water treatment
    Heavy civils
    Utilities
    Nuclear
    Major infrastructure projectsYou will ideally have:

    Experience delivering projects valued between £2.5m-£25m
    Strong programme management and project delivery experience
    Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
    Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
    Knowledge of NEC contracts and CDM regulations
    A proactive approach with excellent communication and leadership skills
