We're currently recruiting for an experienced Configuration Engineer to join a major engineering project based in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting configuration management activities on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes.
Working within a highly collaborative engineering environment, you'll help ensure that design configuration is effectively controlled throughout the project lifecycle, supporting technical teams and stakeholders to maintain compliance, quality and configuration integrity.
The Role
As a Configuration Engineer, you will:
Support the delivery of configuration management processes across a large engineering programme.
Act as a key technical point of contact for engineering teams on configuration management matters.
Coordinate stakeholders to progress design changes, technical interfaces, open points and configuration activities.
Monitor and steer end-to-end configuration management processes.
Support design handovers while maintaining robust configuration control.
Assist in developing and maintaining data-driven approaches to managing engineering configuration.
Analyse technical documentation and identify opportunities to improve processes and systems.
Build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
About You
We're looking for candidates who have:
A degree in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
Experience supporting engineering projects within highly regulated industries.
Knowledge of engineering processes and configuration management principles.
Excellent organisational, coordination and communication skills.
The ability to analyse technical information and manage multiple priorities.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.Desirable experience includes:
Nuclear, power generation or other regulated industry experience.
Knowledge of quality arrangements within large engineering projects.
Understanding of power station design or major infrastructure projects.
