How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    AMB Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor for an experienced Working Foreman and Groundworks Gang to support a growing workload across the North West and wider UK.

    We are ideally looking for an established gang of three consisting of:

    1 x Working Foreman
    2 x GroundworkersThis is a temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term prospects for the right team.

    We are only looking for gangs who have worked together in the past.

    About the Role

    Based out of the company's Prescot office, the majority of projects are located throughout the North West. However, as the business operates nationwide, applicants must be willing to travel and work away when required.

    The successful gang will have experience delivering a variety of groundworks and civils packages, including:

    Drainage
    Deep drainage
    Gullies
    Interceptor works
    Concrete works
    General groundworksWorking Foreman Responsibilities

    The Working Foreman will be expected to lead the gang whilst remaining hands-on and must be capable of:

    Reading and interpreting drawings
    Planning and organising daily works
    Ordering materials and managing site requirements
    Liaising with Site Managers and Contracts Managers
    Driving productivity on site
    Managing programmes and keeping works moving forward
    Leading by example and maintaining high standardsThis role would suit a proactive and self-managing individual who takes ownership of their projects and doesn't require constant direction.

    Requirements

    Working Foreman

    Strong groundworks/civils background
    SMSTS or SSSTS preferred
    CSCS Card
    Proven experience leading teams on siteGroundworkers

    CSCS Card
    Proven experience in drainage and general groundworks
    Relevant CPCS/NPORS tickets advantageousAll applicants should ideally hold standard industry certifications including:

    Manual Handling
    Asbestos Awareness
    Confined Spaces (advantageous)
    Relevant plant tickets where applicablePackage

    Temp-to-perm opportunity
