How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Housing Support Worker - Southend-On-Sea, UK

    Job Responsibilities:

    Provide practical advice, information, and support on a range of issues including tenancy sustainment, education, employment, and life skills.

    Promote personal independence among service users.

    Support service users in seeking improvements to their mental health and managing physical health problems or substance misuse as required.

    Ensure exemplary, safe, and well-maintained housing for all service users.

    Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, encouraging their participation in decision-making processes.

    Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support.

    Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    Experience in a housing support or similar role.

    Strong understanding of mental health issues, substance misuse, and the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to supporting service users.

    Relevant qualifications in social care, health, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care).

    Knowledge of local services and resources available to support service users.

    Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
