Working closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects across a diverse portfolio, including high-end residential developments and data centres. The role is predominantly post-contract, with regular site visits to monitor progress, build relationships, and ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the commercial management of multiple projects from award through to final account.
* Prepare and submit interim applications for payment and variations.
* Assess, price and negotiate variations and compensation events.
* Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts where required.
* Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow updates.
* Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
* Attend regular site visits across London and surrounding areas to monitor project progress and maintain strong relationships with site teams and clients.
* Identify commercial risks and opportunities and report findings to the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
* Ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations and commercial targets.
* Liaise with project managers, site managers, clients, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction sector.
* Previous experience working directly for a subcontractor preferred, but not essential.
* Roofing subcontractor experience is highly desirable but not essential; candidates from other specialist subcontractor backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
* Experience working on post-contract commercial activities.
* Good understanding of standard forms of contract.
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
* Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
