How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Service Coordinator - Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG)

    Location: Hackney E8
    Directorate: Adults, Health and Integration
    Hybrid - 2 / 3 Days in the Office
    Start: ASAP
    Length: 6 Months
    Pay: £21.53 Per Hour PAYE / £29.01 Per Hour Umbrella

    About the Role

    Are you an organised, empathetic administrative professional looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local residents?

    The London Borough of Hackney is seeking a dedicated Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Service Coordinator to join the Adult Social Care team. In this vital role, you will be the primary point of contact for residents, carers, and families accessing the DFG Home Adaptations Service, ensuring they receive person-centred support to live safely and independently in their homes.

    Key Responsibilities

    First Point of Contact: Serve as the welcoming face and voice of the DFG Home Adaptation Service, addressing queries from residents, internal staff, and external partners via phone, email, letter, and in person.
    Application & Case Management: Efficiently process incoming DFG referrals and manage application workflows through our case management systems.
    Resident Support: Carry out occasional home visits to assist residents with administrative tasks when needed, delivering a supportive and person-centred service.
    Operational & Administrative Care: Manage essential tasks, including minute-taking, document management, updating records, collecting customer survey feedback for KPIs, and processing purchase orders and invoices.
    Collaborative Partnership: Work closely with cross-departmental teams (Housing, Health, Adult Social Care) and external DFG contractors to resolve queries and improve outcomes for residents.

    What We Are Looking For

    Qualifications & Essential Requirements

    GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above, or equivalent).
    A current Enhanced DBS check.

    Skills & Experience

    Administrative Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing varied office workloads, maintaining computerised databases, and processing financial documentation (invoices/POs).
    Communication & Rapport: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information sensitively and build rapport with diverse communities.
    Organisation & Flexibility: High-level organisational skills with the proven ability to prioritise competing demands, work on your own initiative, and meet deadlines.
    Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with IT tools, spreadsheets, email, and client contact management databases.
