How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electrical Project Engineer

    Location: South West (Hybrid Working Available)

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a growing engineering and infrastructure team delivering a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects across the South West.

    Working on projects ranging from £1m to £30m, you will play a key role in coordinating electrical engineering activities from initial design and procurement through to installation, commissioning and project completion. This position offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment, supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering schemes while ensuring safety, quality and programme objectives are achieved.

    Hybrid working is available, with occasional travel to project and office locations as required.

    Key Responsibilities

    Coordinate electrical engineering activities throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, industry standards and project requirements.
    Review electrical designs, technical documentation and supplier information, supporting procurement, testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
    Work collaboratively with internal teams, subcontractors and external stakeholders to ensure successful integration and delivery of electrical systems.
    Provide technical support throughout construction and installation phases, assisting with problem-solving, quality assurance and programme management.
    Monitor project progress and contribute to the successful delivery of projects within budget and timescales.
    Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practice across engineering and project delivery teams.
    Assist with mentoring and developing junior engineers where appropriate.
    About You

    We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with experience delivering engineering, infrastructure, utilities, industrial or construction-related projects.

    You will ideally have:

    HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
    Experience supporting projects through design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
    Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, control systems and associated electrical installations.
    Strong understanding of relevant health, safety and quality standards.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
    Relevant site-based qualifications such as CSCS, SMSTS or SSSTS would be advantageous.
