Commercial Head of Operations

Chase Taylor Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading commercial glazing specialist for an experienced Commercial Head of Operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused operations leader to join a successful and growing business, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the commercial operations function.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will oversee project delivery, manage operational teams, drive continuous improvement, and play a key role in developing new business opportunities and supporting the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the commercial operations team across multiple projects.
* Oversee projects from contract award through to completion.
* Manage and support Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Surveyors, and Installation teams.
* Ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Drive operational performance, efficiency, and profitability.
* Seek out new business opportunities to support the continued growth of the business.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
* Conduct sales surveys for refurbishment and commercial glazing projects, identifying customer requirements and opportunities.
* Work closely with estimating, commercial, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and design teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Collaborate with the marketing department to support business development initiatives and growth strategies.
* Ensure the successful conversion of quotations into secured orders through effective client engagement and follow-up.
* Monitor project performance, operational budgets, and resource planning.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and profitability.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Previous experience in a senior operations management, contracts management, or business development role within the commercial glazing, façade, curtain walling, aluminium windows and doors, or wider construction industry.
* A proven track record of delivering commercial projects while driving business growth.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
* Excellent leadership and people management skills.
* Experience building long-term relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
* The ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
* A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.
