How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Health & Safety Instructor (Full Training Provided)

    £34,000 - £38,000 + Monday-Friday + Full Training & Development + HSF Health Plan + Perkbox + Pension + Cycle to Work Scheme + 33 Days Holiday

Do you have a genuine "muddy boots" Health & Safety background from construction, utilities, engineering or heavy industry?

Are you looking to step away from site work into a Monday-Friday training role where you can pass on your knowledge, continue developing your own skills and enjoy a fantastic work-life balance?

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading technical training providers. Following significant investment into its facilities, technology and training capability, the organisation continues to grow and is committed to becoming the leading provider of technical and safety training across the engineering and energy sectors.

They aren't looking for someone who has only worked behind a desk. They're looking for someone with a genuine "muddy boots" background-someone who has worked on construction sites, within utilities or heavy industry and can bring real-life experience into the classroom. Your credibility and industry knowledge are what will make you successful in this role.

You'll deliver a mixture of classroom and practical Health & Safety training to delegates from construction, engineering, utilities and infrastructure organisations. Rather than carrying out site inspections or compliance audits, you'll use your experience to develop others whilst continuing to build your own technical capability through further instructor qualifications and industry accreditations.

The organisation invests heavily in its instructors, providing structured development and the opportunity to gain approvals across a broad range of Health & Safety disciplines. As your experience grows, you'll have the opportunity to expand the number of accredited courses you deliver, making this an excellent long-term career move.

This role would suit a Health & Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor, SHEQ Advisor, Site Safety Advisor, Site Manager, Construction Manager or Health & Safety Trainer looking to move into a rewarding role where they can continue working within the industry whilst helping develop the next generation of professionals.

    The Role

*Deliver accredited and non-accredited Health & Safety training
*Deliver both classroom-based and practical training sessions
*Teach courses including IOSH, NEBOSH, CITB, Manual Handling and other Health & Safety programmes
*Assess learner competence through practical and theory-based assessments
*Prepare training materials and practical exercises
*Maintain learner records and support quality assurance
*Receive ongoing instructor development and additional industry accreditations
    *Monday-Friday, 40-hour working week

    The Person

*Genuine "muddy boots" background within construction, utilities, engineering or heavy industry
*IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum (NEBOSH desirable)
*Level 3 Award in Education & Training advantageous but not essential
    *Strong communication and presentation skills
    *Passion for developing others
*Previous training experience beneficial but not essential
*Knowledge of IOSH, NEBOSH, CITB, PASMA, IPAF or First Aid training would be advantageous.
