How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You'll play a vital part in managing supplier performance, controlling inventory, supporting production, and ensuring materials arrive on time, every time.

With responsibility for supplier spend exceeding £6 million annually, you'll work closely with suppliers across the UK and internationally while collaborating with internal sales, warehouse, finance, and manufacturing teams to keep the business operating efficiently.

If you enjoy variety, taking ownership and continuously improving supply chain performance, we'd love to hear from you.

    What You'll Be Doing

You'll become the central point for purchasing and materials coordination, ensuring products and components are available to meet customer demand.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Managing supplier relationships to achieve the highest standards of cost, quality, and delivery.
Monitoring supplier performance and proactively resolving supply issues.
Raising and managing purchase orders while maintaining accurate pricing.
Reviewing supplier performance and identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved service.
Managing stock levels, reorder points, and inventory parameters to optimise availability and minimise excess stock.
Maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), product records, and supplier documentation.
Processing supplier invoices and resolving invoice or delivery discrepancies.
Supporting import documentation and customs processes.
Working closely with internal departments to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules.
Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes, inventory control, and overall supply chain performance.
    What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines excellent organisation with a commercial mindset and enjoys working across multiple departments.

    You'll ideally have:

At least 3 years' experience within Purchasing, Materials Planning, Stock Control or Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working within fast-paced manufacturing or production businesses.
    Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Experience managing inventory levels and stock control.
Confidence communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    Desirable:

    CIPS qualification (or working towards).
Experience analysing inventory parameters and stock optimisation.
Understanding of import documentation and freight processes.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
    You'll Be Someone Who...

Takes ownership and enjoys solving problems.
Builds strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues alike.
Thrives in a busy manufacturing environment.
    Has excellent attention to detail.
Enjoys finding ways to improve processes and reduce costs.
Can balance commercial awareness with outstanding customer service.
    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful manufacturing business where your contribution will have a genuine impact on operational performance.

    You'll enjoy:

A varied role with real responsibility.
Close collaboration across multiple business functions.
The opportunity to influence purchasing and inventory strategy.
    A supportive team environment.
Long-term career development within a growing organisation.
