How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing business that is investing in its future. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Buyer to join their busy Supply Chain team based in South Oxfordshire.
Working alongside an experienced Purchasing team, you will take ownership of a specialist commodity group, managing suppliers and ensuring materials, goods and services are delivered on time and at the best possible value to support production.
    The Role

. Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
. Ensure materials are delivered on time to meet manufacturing schedules.
. Maintain accurate supplier and purchasing data within the ERP system (SAP experience advantageous).
. Work closely with internal departments to support business objectives.
    About You
We're looking for someone who has:
. Previous buying or purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
. Experience working with an ERP system and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
. The ability to interpret technical drawings and technical information.
. Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
. Experience within a commodity group such as mechanical components, composites or marine components would be an advantage but is not essential.
If you're an experienced Buyer looking for your next opportunity with a growing manufacturer, we'd love to hear from you.
